Job Description

The Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Investigating, classifying and prioritising issues assigned to you from the GBST issue management system (currently "Mashups").
  • Writing and/or reviewing detailed requirements submitted by clients in production as directed.
  • Researching, analysing and/or writing detailed requirements relating to legislative issues.
  • Writing Functional Designs or User Stories in response to requirements submitted by clients in production as directed.
  • Providing on-site consultancy to production clients (such as supporting a clients User Acceptance Test Phase) as required.
  • Prioritising issues based on impact and urgency.
  • Business Support: Provide high-quality support to clients via phone, email and chat with a focus on resolving application issues.
  • Incident Management: Monitor, manage, and resolve incidents in a timely manager, ensuring adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and quality standards
  • Troubleshooting & Analysis: Investigate and resolve application issues, using business knowledge and experience, logs, SQL queries, and diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for common issues, resolutions, and troubleshooting processes to ensure knowledge is shared across the support team.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with technical and infrastructure teams to escalate and resolve complex issues that require cross-functional support.
  • System Optimisation: Identify recurring issues and recommend enhancements to improve system stability, performance, and user experience.
  • Client Training & Communication: Provide guidance to client on best practices, new features, and changes in application functionalities, while ensuring clear and professional communication,

Desired Skills and Experience

To be successful you will need:

  • Tertiary qualifications and/or significant experience in the IT industry and/or as a client administration Business Analyst within a reputable Financial Institution that operates in a similar industry as GBST.
  • Experience in the financial services industry.
  • Detailed knowledge in Pension and Wrap systems in the UK market.
  • Experience in the following areas:
    • Gathering business requirements and writing business specifications
    • Gap analysis process and deliverables
    • Business process re-engineering
    • Writing detailed requirements and functional designs / and or user stories
  • Technical Expertise: Strong understanding of application support practices, with experience in SQL, troubleshooting, and diagnostic tools. Knowledge of financial software or fintech applications is essential.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving complex issues, with an analytical mindset and attention to detail.
  • Customer-Focused: Excellent communication skills and a customer-centric approach, with the ability to work effectively with clients under pressure.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player with the ability to work across teams and departments to resolve issues and improve service delivery.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with a commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.

 

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with ITIL framework and best practices in incident and problem management.
